College of Philomath

“Preserving and Enhancing Our Community”

Built in 1909, the College of Philomath has served the community as a college, music conservatory, elementary school, and apartment building – and that’s just the beginning!

College of Philomath History

Philomath’s second college, the College of Philomath, was founded in 1889. Its existence reflects a doctrinal split, primarily pertaining to freemasonry and membership in secret societies, that created decades of debate within the national United Brethren Church.

Our Vision of the Future

We believe the College is a valuable asset for the community of Philomath, and can be revitalized to serve as a multi-functional residential and community space for senior citizens, education, and the broader community.
